Info text

This amazing Gothic tower was built in 1472 - 1476. It stands close to the Church of St Henry and Cunigunda and at the time it was meant as a separate belfry that belonged to the church. It was owned by the Order of the Crusaders of the Red Star.

It was damaged several times, in 1648 by the Swedish troops, in 1757 by the Prussians, and in 1801 a windstorm broke the beautiful Gothic roof. The architect Josef Mocker undertook the restoration of the tower in the late 19th century.
