Info text

Based on the design of Benedikt Ried, this tall, defensive tall was built over Stag’s Gorge to help fortify the north side of Prague Castle in 1496. The tower bears the name of Dalibor from Kozojed who was condemned because of his support for an uprising in the

neighboring lordship and subsequently hid the refugees at his house. Legend has it that he used to play the violin here so that he could obtain his food and not die from hunger. Among the famous prisoners here was the patron of art, František Antonín Sporck.
