Kaiserštejn Palace

Baroque palace where opera diva Ema Destinová used to live
Significant photo
Info text

In 1700, on a site where two Gothic houses stood, architect Giovanni Battista Alliprandi built a High Baroque palace for unmarried master Helfried of Kaiserstein, his coat of arms above the balcony door of the palace facade is still there.

The attic gable is decorated with a baroque allegory of the Four Seasons or of the Four Elements, which are probably the work of Italian sculptor Ottavio Bridge. The famous opera diva Ema Destinová lived here between 1908 and 1914.
