Description

Thanks to the members of the Czech Tourist Club, this beautiful structure was built in 1891. The club was inspired by the tower in Paris and thus established the Cooperative to Build the Viewing Tower. At a height of 318 meters, Petřín

Hill was chosen as the site to build the viewing tower. Its 299 steps lead to the look-out platform (51 meters high) which offers a spectacular view of Prague. It is constructed of steel and 175 tons of iron were used to create it.
