This coffeehouse is situated in the Lucerna Palace, which is a unique complex of buildings. It was built by engineer Václav Havel ( grandfather of Czech Republic President Václav Havel) in cooperation with architect Stanislav
Bechyně between 1907 and 1922. His bust is located at the entrance of the coffeehouse and magnificent movie theatre.
The Art Nouveau Lucerna Palace and Café Lucerna are very lively and centrally located places.
