Viktor Ponrepo, a surprising man by any standard, opened the first movie theatre in Prague in this house. The first movie was shown here on September 15th 1907. The new attraction quickly interested the audience. Director Ponrepo was a man of the old school and at each
performance, he personally welcomed the audience as well as greeted them farewell afterwards. His welcoming ceremony – a deep bow – was also filmed to his orders in case his health would prevent him from personal participation at the movie projection performances.
