The army museum is located in the Prague district of Žižkov in a building called "Památník Národního Osvobození" (Monument to the National Liberation). The exhibition of the museum is divided into three large sections. The first section recalls the era of World War I (1914 – 1918), the participation of Czechs and Slovaks in the war, political and military actions, which led to the formation of the independent Czechoslovak Republic. The second section is dedicated to interwar Czechoslovak Republic and its military forces. The third exhibition section shows World War II period, mapping the participation of the Czechs and Slovaks in military operations on different fronts, in the

national resistance movements or other events that had the goal of restoring Czechoslovakia´s independence. The museum is devoted to the history of the first, the second, and from February 2003 the third post-communist resistance movement during the years of 1914 – 1918 and 1939 – 1945. It also pays tribute to the history of the Czechoslovak Army during 1918 – 1939, and to the persecution of Czech Army soldiers and officers following the state-revolution in February 1948. As well as weapons, the exhibition shows a number of unique vintage uniforms, flags, awards, medals and monuments commemorating Czechoslovak Presidents and leading representatives of the Czechoslovak Army.
