The villa, which is an important aspect of the city panorama, was built for Karel Kramář, a politician, in 1911. It was designed by Viennese architect Bedřich Ohmann. The architecture of the villa
combines a Neo-Baroque style with Russian ornamental features, which correspond to the Russophilia of the owner.
Today, the villa is the official residence of the Czech Republic Prime Ministers.
