Čech's Bridge

The shortest bridge in Prague
Info text

The bridge was completed between 1905 and 1908 following architect Jan Koula´s plans and it linked the newly built Pařížská Street to the opposite bank of the Vltava River. A tunnel running through "Letenská Plain" (Letná Plain) was supposed to be built, it would have created a modern metropolitan boulevard interconnecting newly built

districts on both banks. However, the plan was never realized. The bridge is named after the writer Svatopluk Čech and is one of the first structures built in the Art Nouveau style. Of exceptionally good quality, one can admire the four allegorical statues representing Victory situated on the tall pillars at both ends of the bridge.
